Transmission line contract for Kuwait’s Boubyan substation secured by Elsewedy Electric

Elsewedy Electric for Transmission and Distribution, the subsidiary of Elsewedy Electric – The Egyptian stock exchange listed, has inked a new contract worth $53.2 million with the Kuwait Ministry of Electric and Water to supply and install overhead lines. A total of eleven bidders had submitted the proposals while the Egyptian based construction company, with its lowest bid, won the contract.

Project scope of work involves the supply and installation of two new 400kV double circuit three phase overhead transmission line from existing line (tapping of 400kV Double Circuit Overhead Transmission line (OHTL) between existing Subbiya Power Station and existing Sabah Elahmad “4Z” substation) to proposed Mubarak AlKabeer Port “Z” 400/132/11kV substation. The approximate route length is 96 kilometers and the period of the contract will be 30 months. The company will implement electrical, mechanical work, road works, and water networks.
