The State of EV Charging Infrastructure in the United States

The US transportation sector is the largest carbon emitting sector in the country. The Federal and State regulators are promoting EV adoption by providing incentives like EV tax credits, introducing ICE bans, and offering rebates for setting up charging infrastructure. Nationwide, the publicly available charging points currently stand at above 100,000, have more than tripled since 2015. The Biden administration’s infrastructure proposal plans to setup 500,000 charging points by 2030 but more needs to be done to spur EV adoption.
