Solar Cost Models
With most solar technologies well into their respective commercialization phases, the focus is shifting to operational efficiencies, the most important of which, is cost. Cost is therefore becoming the key indicator in differentiating winners from losers in this market. The dollar per watt ($/W) benchmark is a great start; however does not go far enough in really measuring this most critical of operating benchmarks.
In order to go further and truly compare costs, both volume throughput and wattage need to be de-coupled and scrutinized. This is the foundation by which the Cost Model Service operates, going into each process step required and estimating the cost
What is covered?
Step by step coverage of process steps broken down with the following criteria:
- Machines/Equipment purchased
- Raw Materials
- By process step
This allows for forecasting based on changes in material consumption or usage.
