Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has plans to improve their transmission network’s voltage stability. To achieve these plans, SEC has recently awarded an order to Siemens for the supply of STATCOM to be installed at Kudimi Substation. The scope of project is not limited to DPRC. Siemens will also be supplying GIS, control, protection and SCADA systems. Since this is an EPC contract, Siemens will be responsible for turnkey job i.e., design, engineering, construction, transportation, installation and commissioning. The DPRC is required to provide dynamic stability for the induction type loads which are present in the network.
