Powerlink will be installing first synchronous condenser in Queensland to deliver system strength to local wind and solar farms

Powerlink Australia has signed an agreement with Neoen (Renewable Energy Generator) to provide Synchronous Condenser for their 157MW Kaban Green Power Hub in order to provide support for transmission system strength which is significant issue faced in Australian transmission infrastructure due to intermittent nature of renewable energy. Powerlink is installing this large synchronous condenser as a service to provide system support for future projects across North Queensland which is a renewable generation hub. Powerlink will be the first company in Australia to launch this model as a service.
