NR-Electric has successfully put one of the highest SVCs in the world into operation

Ali power network project is world highest power transmission project started in 2019. The transmission lines deployed in this project have length of about 1700 Kms with major towers deployed over average elevation of 4000 meters. The network structure of Tibet power grid is extremely weak and can cause power huge voltage fluctuations. The SVC is installed at 220 kV BA’ER substation at an altitude of 4688 meters where the minimum temperature can go up to -40? . All of these conditions were major challenges faced by NR-Electric which were tackled with appropriate design and control strategy of the SVC. NR-Electric has installed more than 100 SVCs in China to support the grid making it largest supplier of FACTS in China. Link to the news:
