by Apr 27, 2021

In order to enable four African countries to get benefit from future hydro plants in the region, a 225 kV transmission line of 1303 KM has been developed which connects Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea through 12 substations. To ensure voltage and overall transmission system stability, NR-Electric was chosen to supply and install a ±50 MVAr Static VAR Compensator last year. The system has been installed at MAN substation in Cote d’Ivoire and been successfully put into operation in the end of first quarter of 2021. Chinese suppliers like NR-Electric and RXPE are active in the FACTS market of Africa for past one decade with NR-Electric having supplied the maximum number of systems. NR-Electric has developed turnkey capabilities in Africa which enable to undertake complete project execution for their projects which includes everything from preliminary survey to complete design, from equipment procurement to civil construction, from electrical installation to commissioning.
