Mercedes-Benz creates new battery packs for its all-electric buses

Mercedes-Benz announces solid-state battery packs for its new articulated bus eCitaro G. These batteries are free of chemical elements like nickel, cobalt, and manganese and can give upto 10 years of life. Apart from being environmentally friendly, these solid-state batteries are high in energy density (441 kWh). Mercedes-Benz’s eCitaro G will become first electric bus to use this kind of a battery pack. Diamler is also working to adapt this technology to its automotive range. Mercedes-Benz is also working on development of fuel cell-hybrid eCitaro with a 400km range. Fuel cell-hybrid eCitaro is expected to be unveiled in 2022. Link to the news:
