Lion Electric Co. to deliver its first battery-powered electric trucks next month

The Quebec-based company has planned to have atleast 50 of its class 6 and class 8 trucks in service by the end of this year. Lion electric’s class 8 Lion8 electric truck was introduced previous year. The truck will be able to travel upto 250 miles on a single charge. Lion has decided to use same li-ion battery technology which it has installed in more than 300 of its school buses. These Lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) batteries will be provided by suppliers who are primarily in Korea. Lion then assembles the battery packs themselves. Lion has recently announced that Amazon will be purchasing 10 Lion6 trucks and CN will be puchasing 50 Lion8 trucks. Link to the news:
