Hitachi ABB Power Grids’ power transformers facility in Hanoi, Vietnam recently upgraded its transformer manufacturing and testing facilities from 171 kV to 230 kV to quickly meet orders from solar and wind power plants, create a credible local service ecosystem and also reduce transportation costs for customers. This makes it one of only two companies capable of manufacturing and supplying 220 kV power transformers in Vietnam.
To power its economy – one of the fastest growing in the region, Vietnam aims to tap into its tremendous renewable energy potential: 4–5 kWh/m2 of solar incidence and 3,000 km of coastlines with consistent winds in the range of 5.5 – 7.3 m/s.
Hitachi ABB Power Grids recently supplied and commissioned a 220 kV power transformer to Toji Group for the fast track 50 MWp Solar Power Plant Loc Ninh 5 in series of Loc Ninh 1,2,3,4,5 solar projects with total capacity of 800 MWp in Binh Phuoc Vietnam developed by Hung Hai Group. TOJI Group is one of the top Vietnam companies specializing in EPC execution for substation up to 500kV.
