GE energizes 3900 Mvar Fixed Series Compensation (FSC) Systems in 2019 to Increase Efficiency of Transmission Networks

GE has regained its market share after observing a low sales span of Fixed Series Compensation systems in 2018. Although it is relevant to mention that GE has its major market share in North America whereas it’s competitor ABB has captured significant market share outside North America. With growing share of renewable energy in generation mix, utilities will be required to deliver energy from generation point to load centers at long distance. To achieve this goal efficiently, utilities are expanding their lines transmission capacity using FSC instead of going for deployment of new lines since FSC improves the lines capacity keeping the cost lower than the installation of new lines.
