Siemens Energy will be providing three SVC Plus systems to The Electricity Supply Board (ESB), Ireland for their three sites. Siemens will provide these systems on turnkey basis and these projects will be installed at substations in Ballyvouskill, Ballynahulla and Thurles. To carry out the civil works, Siemens Energy will subcontract this part to local contractors. These systems are very first ones to be deployed in the transmission network of ESB and will enable the grid operators to keep the grid stable during renewables integration. The systems will be operational in 2023 making Siemens Energy key supplier of FACTS in Ireland. The partnership between Siemens Energy and ESB does not end at the projects delivery as five year maintenance package is also part of this contract.
