ABB starts construction of $30 million facility for DC chargers

The ground breaking ceremony happened in July 2020 in San Giovanni Valdarno, Italy. ABB plans to start production at this facility by end of 2021, which will meet the global demand for EV chargers. The new plant will produce ABB’s entire portfolio of direct current (DC) electric vehicle battery chargers, from domestic systems to systems for installation in public areas and those dedicated to urban public transport. ABB by the end of 2019 has sold 14,000 chargers, which is almost 35% of all the CCS and CHAdeMO supported DC chargers. Link to the news:
